About Us

Since opening its door in 1999, EVRC has acted as an information and referral service for volunteers, and a recruitment and support service for Volunteer-Involving-Organisations (VIOs).

Our services include:

We aim to provide a high quality, responsive service that provides positive experiences for volunteers and agencies in search of volunteer support.

Recent changes in our funding sources necessitated a relocation to the Esperance Public Library mid-2021. At the eleventh hour the Federal Government allocated some interim funding for 2021/22 period to assist the peak bodies - in our case Volunteering WA - in setting up a new Volunteer Management Activity (VMA) program.

This VMA has a strong focus on creating an online hub of training resources and support for VIOs, and building the capacity of VIOs to engage with three identified priority groups: First Nations people; new migrants; and people with disabilities.

EVRC is partnering with VolunteeringWA and five other Volunteer Resource Centres across the state to help establish the parameters of the new VMA.

In defining the outcomes for the program we have been contracted to ascertain the needs of volunteer-involving organisations (VIOs), collect baseline data, and create evidence-based resources to support volunteer management in WA as well as deliver services directly to help VIOs increase their capacity to welcome volunteers from the target groups.

EVRC operates through the Shire of Esperance, with funding from VolunteeringWA and the Department of Communities.
